Since 2009 the Honeybee Education Program created a Non Profit project to support beekeeping, honeybees and our local pollinators. Through this program we serve over 2000 youth and adults annually.

HEP’s mission is to benefit Hawaii’s diversified agriculture and potential growth in the beekeeping industry by providing educational services and vocational skills training that will ultimately expand the beekeeping community and sustain a healthy population of honeybees, thus preserving tropical agricultural production.

Beekeeping Workshop Taster
Monthly Beekeeping Workshops are available to community residents.
Workshops are free and provide a glimpse into caring for bees and the art of beekeeping.
The Honeybee Education Program offers outreach programs to Hawaii Island’s schools and island farmers. HEP was created in response to declines in honeybee populations worldwide as well as locally. as someone without experience the class was a very nice balance of not being too overwhelming and technical but still feeling like I learned a ton of information and got to actually see and touch the bees and hives and really get right into it without it being intimidating. gave me and my family inspiration that keeping bees is possible.
